The Long Hill staff had a wonderful celebration .....saying goodbye to friends moving on and to Mrs. Lindsey on her retirement!!!!

Our PTA Executive Board has been awesome!!!  We will miss you!!!

 

Paul Miller helped motivate our students as they prepared for the EOG Testing!!!

 

 

Our spring PTA meeting offered a little something for everyone!!

 

Mr. Dent leads our newly formed "United Nations" team in some very interesting discussions!!

 

The staff enjoyed a delicious lunch during "Staff Appreciation Week" prepared by our fabulous PTA!!!

 

5th Graders participated in a "Mother's Day Poetry Contest" sponsored by Reed Jewelers. 

 

A presentation by representatives from the Ft. Bragg Blood Donor Center amazed 5th Grade students !!

The spring "Read-In" was FUN!!!

 

Super Fitness Field Day was lots of fun for some special Long Hill athletes!!

 

2nd grade students participated in a "Trade Fair"!!

 

The NED Show  entertained us and had a great message!!!............. NEVER GIVE UP..........ENCOURAGE EVERYONE...............DO YOUR BEST!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Everyone enjoyed the 1st annual Globemaster Tournament!!!

 

Volunteers were honored at the annual Volunteer Tea!!!

Volunteers are angels sent from God above giving up their time, in selflessness and love! 

We sometimes take for granted in the rush of all we do, and forget to say a special thanks to volunteers like you!

So, we send this note to tell you how much all you do means, your gifts of time and of yourself are special ones indeed!

 

 

Mrs. Terranova's 2nd graders enjoyed releasing their butterflies after watching their metamorphosis in the classroom!!

 

 

The Beta Club Induction was a special time for 5th Grade Students!!!

Long Hill honored some special people during our Arbor Day Celebration!!!

 

Everyone enjoyed the entertainment at our March PTA meeting: "Hansel and Gretel, Kinda" and the 3rd Grade Choral Performance honoring National Music Month!!

 

'My State" was the theme of this years Civic Oration Contest.  Great job boys and girls!!!

 

The first "LHES Social Studies Invitational Tournament" was a HUGE success!!!!!

Mrs. K. Frazee's 3rd grade enjoyed a visit from "Glo-Bell" after they won a Kidsville News Contest!!!

"Moments in Time" .....  During February,  we are learning more about famous black Americans and their contributions.  Long Hill boys and girls are sharing information about these people as well as dressing like them.

The boys and girls at Long Hill were visited by Santa and his helpers!!

 

 

5th Grade AIG students visited The Cumberland County Court House in conjunction with the Jury Trials/Court System Unit!!  They enjoyed observing the beginnings of a trial as well as pretending to be the judge!!

 

The 3rd grade AIG students did a fantastic job with their Novel Projects!!

 

 

The Geography Bee Competition was VERY exciting!!!!

Congratulations to the winners of the Geography Flag Competition!!

 

The Kids Council helped make decorations for the Long Hill Christmas Tree!!  They did a great job decorating the tree!!

 

After-School Clubs are a great hit with the students at Long Hill!!

 

 

Students enjoyed seeing Mrs. Winfrey-Knox help out in the cafeteria!!

 

A representative from the Cumberland County Library visited Long Hill and shared some wonderful stories!!

Once Upon A Time............

 

 

Mrs. K Frazee and her 3rd grade class enjoyed the visit from "Steve" from 96.5.  Mrs. Frazee won "Teacher of the Week" with a poem she and her class submitted.

5th Grade Students enjoyed the annual "Trade Fair".  The "Trade Fair" gives students the opportunity to barter and trade like the early explorers.

 

 

"Skate Night" is always lots of fun!!

Long Hill PTA sponsored another very successful "Book Fair"!!!

 

 

The third grades presented their latest book report projects.  Kori and Laine designed T-shirts based on their books.

 

Students from Long Hill enjoyed participating in Cumberland County's 2nd annual  "Reading Rocks For Literacy Walk-A-Thon" !!

 

The students at Long Hill have fun at "Clusters" as well and learn!!

 

 

Winners from the "Literacy Olympics" have received prizes and gotten to participate in some very fun events!!

 

Alexis and Bruce are winners of the boom boxes provided by the cafeteria staff as we celebrated "National School Lunch Week" from October 10-14.  "It's Instrumental" was the theme this year and every boy and girl who ate a cafeteria meal during this week was elgible to be in the drawing for the boom boxes.  Abby won the drawing at the county level!!!

 

Students at Long Hill helped raise money for victims of Hurricane Katrina.  The funds received during the "Helping Hands" campaign will aid "Habitat For Humanity".

 

Mr. Dent helps our Geography Team as they become experts in Goegraphy!

     

 

Our 2nd annual "Literacy Olympics" was a great success!!

 

Mr. Bond's class celebrated  "Western Day" after they read "Justin and the  Best Biscuits in the World"!!

 

Long Hill 2nd and 3rd graders worked very hard on our "Beautification Day"!!

 

North Carolina Representative Rick Glazier visited Long Hill.

 

Mrs. Winfrey-Knox and "The Breakfast Club" enjoyed an early morning meal together.

 

PTA  provided us with  a delicious dinner before our  very informative Curriculum Night.

 

We love Grandparents Day!!!

 

The Literacy Olympics Kick-Off was very exciting!!!
